Home insurance policies often limit landscaping coverage to damage caused by certain risks such as fire, lightning, explosion, theft, the impact of aircraft or vehicles. Earthquakes, riots, vandalism or malicious acts. This means that if your tree blows in a windstorm, you would have no cover for the removal or replacement of the tree itself. In addition, things like loss or damage caused by drought, illness, water, weight, or ice or snow may also be excluded. So, even if you have some coverage on your home insurance policy, you can see that this can be quite limited.

Most lawns need about one inch of water a week. The best time of the day to water the lawn (and usually any plant) is early in the morning, so it has all day to dry. You can buy a sprinkler with an automatic timer to reduce the wasting of water, or even put in an irrigation system. Using the wrong tool for the job could be ineffective and possibly even dangerous. Think about the size of the job and dictate the size of the tool accordingly. Some must-haves are safety glasses, gloves, a solid shovel and a good rake. Keep them organized and keep them clean. For specialized jobs, you might consider renting a tool, not just electrical equipment, but hand tools.

The journey through the garden is like a story that begins when you enter the garden. The story continues as one moves through twists along a path, guided by focal points that predict what happens next. Finally, a highlight in the garden trip occurs at a destination - the garden activity room. The story is not finished yet. It resumes as you leave the room and the gradual transition out of space begins to move to the next destination or leave the garden. The language of the models is a philosophy developed by Christopher Alexander (emeritus professor of architecture at the University of California, Berkeley).

Evergreen tree-shaped shrubs are also useful, such as yaupon holly (Ilex vomitoria), camellia (Camellia japonica), inkberry holly (Ilex glabra), or myrtle wax (Myrica cerifera). When selecting trees or shrubs to frame a front entry, consider the texture, color, shape and size of each plant at maturity. The goal is to improve the overall visual effect while not blocking doors or windows or creating future maintenance problems from the root systems of plants or branches and the foliage.

It is not used if a view does not exist. Geometry is part of everyday life and influences the places where we live. A direct relationship exists between two objects on a plane. Because this relationship exists, a landscaper must pay attention to the architecture before placing new objects or creating new spaces. Regardless of the geometry chosen (rectilinear, curvilinear, radial, or tangent arc, for example), the space and the objects proposed must match the existing architecture (Figure 19-21-d). The first image is a bubble chart used to determine the best locations for the required activities and how much space these activities need, and to study the relationship and circulation between activities.

Then, bury a plastic collection basin at the source and connect it to the drain with a PVC drain pipe. This system has some advantages over a French drain (see page 46). Since the pipe is solid and not perforated, it is not necessary to provide gravel for drainage along the drain pipe. In addition, the smooth-walled pipe evacuates water quickly, and if it is plugged, you can use a drainage snake to clean it. Drain Hose Discharge: The drain end of your drain hose can be connected to an automatic emitter that is flush with the lawn when water is not flowing. Drain Hole: Place the intake sump at the low point of your dipped area.
