Identify the prevailing wind, which is the direction from which the fire is most likely to approach. Make sure you do not design storage for firewood, building materials or other flammable materials on this side of the yard.
It is a wonderful help, thank you! I am a total starter here, so when I came across your blog on PINTEREST, I could not wait to dive 🙂 I have a stupid question, I live in what we call a raised ranch its unique story with a high ceiling basement, So when you enter the front door, you have to climb 6 steps .. so high at home. I totally agree that the beds are 30-50% of the height of the wall. However, my side yard, where I look like a bed is incredibly narrow, and I can tell you now that I would be prohibited from planting something with height (like a tree) butted against the house. HELP ME. PS the area is totally bare, it is connected to two neighbors back, no fences and no landscaping.

Plus, you have to walk around the plantation to see what's behind, so it adds a bit of mystery. If you have container gardens, chances are they are on your porch, entrance, patio, patio or balcony. Too few gardeners consider the idea of gardening to mix containers in their beds and borders. Doing so is an easy way to add flexibility to the landscape. Large glass or plastic colored containers are an excellent landscape idea for adding a bright splash, even without flowers.
The cabbage is available in many varieties that have interesting colors and textures (Figure 19 - 50). A grid can be formed using known points on the architecture, such as the corner of the building, the center line of the window or door, and the edge of a porch. Objects placed in the landscape should have a direct geometric relationship with the building and with each other.
