Things to Look at When Choosing a Landscaping Grasses
Determine how high the grasses will be. Will you use a different type of grass commonly in a bed or along a border? Ornamental grasses can differ significantly in their growth height and range from as little as a few inches long to more than 12 feet high.
You can fill the whole bed with ornamental grasses and have as much color variation as you would use in a bed full of flowers. Many decorative kinds of grass are planted as perennials and will mature each year with little maintenance and nurturing.
The appeal of many landscape kinds of grass is in their softness and the way they bend with the wind. While stiffer grasses such as zebra grass or blue fescue look excellent in pots and maintain their standing postures, fuzzy grasses like pampas or Indian grass have wispy foliage that runs smoothly.
